Gold: Loaf ‘N Jug Chile & Frijoles Festival
Pueblochamber.org (719) 542-1704
Roasting chile comes with warnings, don’t be hungry and don’t touch your eyes. It is impossible not to be enamored with the smell of roasting chile and if you are thinking a half bushel is enough, you’re wrong. Local farmers set up shop for three days of food, music, and amusements while vendors line Union avenue in what has become a massive event garnering statewide attention. Chile may be the star, but the frijoles are not to be missed along with tons of other local produce that will be sure to put a smile on your face in this festival marking the coming of fall.
